Seasons and Timekeeping
The traditional calendar as accepted by the civilized races on Horizon has exactly 360 days in a year.
Days of the Week – The days of the week are as follows:
Moonday – The beginning of the week and the hardest workday.
Toilday – A second workday
Wealday – A third workday, for many royals a day of rest in the middle of the week.
Oathday – A day where bargains are often struck, and contracts signed for luck.
Freeday – Signifying the end of the work week, at least for those above common laborers
Starday – A day off for some, or an extra day of work for others
Sunday – A universally attributed day of rest, the churchs often hold services upon sunday.
Months of the Year – In Horizon a month is exactly 30 days long, consisting of two special holidays and the four weeks between them. Every single month has a Firstwatch and a Lastwatch. Town festivals and even weddings or funerals are often held on Lastwatch, whereas Firstwatch is typically used as a marketday for all.
A typical lunar cycle lasts 30 days, with the three middlemost days being the full moon.
